• Which menu items will be photographed? Plan ahead and consider starting with cold dishes when the photographer arrives.
• What props will be included? Make sure you have everything you want to feature in the shoot.
• Will you be using professional models or staff for hand modelling? If your staff are being photographed, ensure they’re aware and comfortable in front of the camera.
• Lighting considerations: What time of day is best for natural light in your venue?
• Prepare your team: Make sure the whole team is briefed, including the chef, before the photographer arrives.
• Assign a staff member to stay with the photographer throughout the shoot. This helps ensure the area stays tidy and that the chef can communicate effectively about the food being photographed.
