Studio Photography FAQs

Which Should I Book, The ‘Brand Me’ Or A ‘Pocket Session’?

A Pocket Session is the speedy solution – it’s quick, snappy, instant, unedited, and designed to fill your grid. On the other hand, a Brand Me photoshoot is the real deal – it’s all about quality and positioning, especially for your website. In short, a Pocket Session is like a social media fix, perfect for those quick content needs. Meanwhile, a Brand Me photoshoot offers your brand a more extensive, thought-out, and creative process.

When Is The Best Time To Book / The Best Lighting?

Currently, the best light at Studio on Hampton typically occurs during the late morning to early afternoon, when natural light floods the space. During the colder months, we recommend not shooting after 4:30PM if you’re not using flash.

We all know Melbourne can be tricky to predict so we try to be as flexible as possible if you’re wanting to catch golden hour. During day light savings the studio can stay bright up to 7PM!

Do note, we are also close to a few Primary Schools, so if you’re flexible, it’s good to avoid traffic around school pickup.

What Type of Photography Does Studio on Hampton Offer?

We specialise in lifestyle product photography, e-commerce, food photography, personal branding sessions, and maternity and newborn photography. We also offer content creation – read more here.

What Is A Mood Board And How Do I Make One?

A mood board is a collection of images that helps communicate your ideas. We find it useful when people use Pinterest. A more simple options is to send screen shots of colours, poses and emotions you would like to capture.

Studio Photography FAQs

Do You Edit the Images?

Yes, all our photography services, except for Pocket Sessions, include final edited images. However, it’s important to note that there’s a distinction between editing images and retouching them.

What’s The Difference Between Editing And Retouching?

Editing focuses on enhancing the overall quality of an image, this includes colour correction and cropping. Retouching involves removing imperfections and enhancing specific areas of the image, such as blemishes, reshaping, or removing unwanted elements.

For retouching services, additional costs may apply if not confirmed prior to booking. This may include adjusting backgrounds, nail editing, lint removal, hair style changes, removing reflections from glass or plastic products, making fabric adjustments, and body contouring.

Do I Get Full Ownership of My Images?

Absolutely, the images are yours to use as you please. However, it’s worth noting that we also retain the rights to any content we capture in the studio. This allows us to use such content to promote the studio on social media and include it in our portfolio. If privacy is a concern and you would prefer that we didn’t use your images, just let us know during your photoshoot.

Can I Receive My Images Unedited?

Providing unedited images would mean delivering incomplete work that does not meet our standards, particularly when it comes to issues like a dirty floor, crumbs, or uneven lighting. While we are open to making minimal edits, we always ensure that the images are cleaned up before delivering them to the client. Please note that images from Pocket Sessions are not edited but are captured with the intention of minimal retouching.

How Long Until I Get My Final Images?

Unless otherwise specified in your booking process, you will receive a link to your unedited album within 48 hours of your photoshoot for your selection. Once you have selected your images please email us to confirm you have made your selections. You can then expect your final images within 14 days. Please consider this timeline when making your booking. You’re welcome to enquire about our $200 express fee when booking your photoshoot.

What Is A RAW Image?

Unedited images are untouched exported JPEGS, which is different to RAW files. RAW files are the digital negatives, containing all the raw data captured by the camera. RAW files need to be decoded using software such as Photoshop or Lightroom.

Can I Have the RAW Or Unedited Files?

No. Due to our fast turnaround, we do not hold on to RAW files or offer to share them. We also do not share unedited images because they are dull and not to our standard of work.

Will I Receive All the Images from The Photoshoot, Including the Unedited Ones?

No, please ensure to confirm the agreement and rate for additional images before booking.
